Benefits of Infant Bodywork

Bodywork can help to alleviate discomfort in the baby's digestive system, such as colic or reflux, which can also impact their ability to breastfeed or bottle feed comfortably. For the mother, infant bodywork can help to improve milk supply and reduce pain and discomfort associated with breastfeeding. It can also be a valuable tool for promoting bonding and connection between the mother and baby. Other benefits include addressing issues due to:

  • Birth Trauma

  • Tongue tie, lip tie, cheek tie (tethered oral tissue)

  • Premature birth

  • Torticollis

  • Developmental delays

Infant Bodywork for Breastfeeding

INITIAL VISIT: $150 for 60 minutes
FOLLOW-UP VISIT:
$125 for 60 minutes

Bodywork can be incredibly beneficial for both the baby and the mother who is experiencing difficulties with breastfeeding. Bodywork techniques such as craniosacral therapy, massage, light touch, rhythmic movement, and occasional gentle vibration can help to release tension in the baby's body, particularly in the head, neck, and jaw, which can improve their ability to latch and feed effectively. Since each baby is so different, it truly depends on their needs. I am a trained craniosacral therapist (CST) and use a combination of the above techniques as needed for each baby.
